bio-electric, haptic, gestural and thought interfaces— documentation ////

the impossible sky :
An indeterminate number of cameras point towards the sky. The collective presence of all these images is joined together into an additive composite. While it isn't possible to distinguish individual characteristics from each location, the composite becomes a hybrid of all skies — the impossible sky.

touch skin— skin touch:
The skin of the body and the skin of technology interact in this installation to form a charged exploration of bio electric interface. Using bio sensors (IBVA hardware), video sensors and electrical frequency sensors the body of the user and the body of a TV create a feedback loop on each other. (to see full documentation you will need the flash plug-in)
50hz:

A series of works that investigates the merging electronic frequency of technology to that of the human brain and consciousness.

version 1 - In the form of a self-portrait, the artist reflects on his relationship to the electronic cycles of both his natural and electronic body. (flash plug-in required)

version 2- In development

beyond:
Moving beyond the surface of skin and exploring a state of consciousness that pushes and pulls between multiple states of being.

 Network Touch:
The idea of a Network Touch plays on the possibilities and impossibilities of this moment in cyberspace where two people try and make a haptic connection.

Works in progress and continual research

A major component to my work is the exploration of new technologies and the integration of these within poetic systems. Following is a list of areas of continual research.

 data streams:
The construction of bridges to pass data between multiple media. As an example the interaction with a web site controls physical parameters in an installation or vice versa.

 bio streams:

Bio-sensors, bio-feedback, EEG, EMG, EKG. What ever title you associate to it. These works move beyond physical touch. User/s interact with computer systems or with others through the inner workings of their own body. Using IBVA hardware (Interactive Brainwave Visual Analyzer) I have designed several prototypes for shared bio feedback. Some of these prototypes will be available as open source for others (Check back soon for these downloads. If interested you can contact me for questions) Here are some working prototypes currently in development.

Using muscle sensors, a performer generates music generated from the tension of their body

Network painting. Multiple users in remote locations share a virtual canvas. Their additive brainwaves play mind games with each other to form a painting.
